About The Otago University Tramping Club

The Otago University Tramping Club is run completely by voluntary members only. Trips organised by the club are run by members who give up their time to organise adventures for others. Anyone is welcome to lead a trip and should they have any questions there are plenty of long standing members around to offer advice. Planned and not planned truips are announced at the regular club meeting times of 1pm Monday and 1pm Friday. Planned trips can be found on the green forms in the Otago room of Club and Soc's and are there for other members to sign on the trip.
The trip leaders are responsible for organising the food, and transport. On the trip every person is responsible for their own and the club's gear, and of course their own actions. We are not organising trips for you, we are organising trips we'd like to do ourselves together with other people that would like to do the same.
As with most clubs there is also a committee that are given responsibility for the different areas of the club. Please feel free to contact them if you have any questions. Committee meetings are held approximately once a month and all members are encouraged to come along and have a say in the running of the club. Meetings are announced online, through their mailing list and in club meetings.
There is always plenty going on at the OUTC the most of the trips, happy hours, and slide shows.
